WITH the South Devon & Torbay Table Tennis League matches all completed, it was the turn of the handicap team cups to be decided.

Third Division Torbay Academy 5 dominated both the Singles and Doubles Handicap cup competitions.

Jamie McGuire, Aleksandra Treder, Gustaw Adamczak and Stephen Metcalfe all contributed regularly in all of the matches and they also had vital support from Noah Gage in the final of the Singles cup.

The singles cup final proved to be their toughest encounter in the competition with victory not ensured until the final set, eventually defeating Teignmouth Delinquents 20-16.

The doubles cup final, also against a Teignmouth outfit, the Aces, was a one-sided affair with the confident Academy 5 team winning 27-9.

It’s on to the end of season tournament at Torbay Leisure Centre and the Awards and Finals night at Stover School now to round off the 2025-26 table tennis season.
