I want to point out the prejudicial impact of words used to report the student’s strike for climate action in Exeter on Friday, March 15.

Students ‘skipping’ and ‘skipped’ school sounds as if they’ve chosen to truant for a day.

The students who I have talked to are committed to this action and have made a serious decision to re-route from going to school missing lessons they love, and spend some of their own limited resources getting to Exeter.

The words you choose show respect or disregard.
