Writers and artists will have several opportunities to meet, share their work, and discuss the creative process at events held in and around the South Hams.

Writer Michael Pantlin will be the guest on the next edition of Artists on Air, a radio programme hosted by artist and writer Anne Rainbow.

The programme will be broadcast on SoundArt Radio from 10am to noon on Monday, September 28.

Listeners can tune in on 102FM or listen to the programme afterwards via the station's catch-up service.

The programme centres on the idea of an "artist date", a concept from Julia Cameron's book The Artist's Way.

Listeners will also have the opportunity to put questions to Pantlin during the programme.

Pantlin is also due to host a book launch at the Cottage Hotel on Wednesday, September 30, from 3pm to 5pm.

Other writing events are being organised by Anne Rainbow over the coming months. A Wednesday Writers Online session will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, October 7, from 10am to 12.30pm.

The guest presenter will be writer Kerry Hadley-Pryce, with a workshop focusing on "Writing a Compelling Story". Places are available through Anne Rainbow's website. The Cottage Hotel will also host Hope Cove Writers' Retreats, offering writers the chance to spend time discussing their writing and the creative process. The retreats are scheduled for November 13 to 16, 2027, and February 25 to 28, 2027. The events are open to both residents and non-residents.

Participants will have opportunities to share their work, receive feedback and hear about the approaches taken by other writers. Places are limited, and early booking is advised.
