Pupils and staff at Kingswear Primary School ‘dressed to express’ themselves to celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week.

The week was organised by Place2Be, a children’s mental health charity that’s been helping families, staff and pupils to improve their mental health and wellbeing for 25 years. Place2Be provides training and resources to aid the improvement of mental health for young people at home and school and offers free resources, including art activities, on their website.

Learning Support Assistant Angela Oliphant said: “The theme this year was ‘growing together’ and so all the pupils at Kingswear planted seeds in assembly, as we intend to create our own flower garden when they bloom later in the year.”

Headteacher Sarah Lord added: “The culmination of the week’s activities was that everyone came to school ‘dressed to express’ themselves. It was a great way for everyone to show others what their interests are and to share their individualities.”
