Salcombe & District Sea Anglers

Salcombe & District Sea Anglers held two competitions recently, one of which was an inter-club match with Kingsbridge.

The Sovereigns of the Sea result was 954.32 per cent for Salcombe to Kingsbridge’s 613.29 per cent.

The score takes in the best 12 fish, with only two per angler counting towards the points.

The individual winner was Tristan Stone, who won the Bets Cup and a rod with a blonde ray of 23lbs, 14ozs – 119.36 per cent (under South West Federation of Sea Anglers’ specimen weights).

The junior boat competition was won by Louis Couchman with a red gurnard of 12.5ozs (52.08 per cent), which gave him the Martin Willis Cup and a fishing rod.

Second prize went to Eva Puncher with a red gurnard of 12ozs (50 per cent). Eva won a supply of fishing tackle.

Third prize went to James Puncher with a red gurnard of 11.5ozs (47.92 per cent). James also won a supply of fishing tackle.

The club would like to thank Chris Puncher, who donated the prizes for both competitions, as well as everyone at the Kings Arms.
