TOTNES Reign were in action once more against their local rivals Ivybridge Ignite.

The experienced Ignite won 54-26 in their previous meeting and they proved too hot to handle in sweltering conditions for a Totnes side playing its second ever match.

Although it ended in a second defeat for Reign, this performance told a different story.

The opening quarter showed that Totnes were there to more than just make up the numbers.

Strong rebounding and confident possession highlighted the team's improvement and cohesion.

Ignite's experience ultimately made the difference. Their clinical pace, disciplined play, slick ball handling, and excellent finishing stretched the game beyond Totnes' reach,

Ivybridge ran out victors by a score of 76-42.

For now, Totnes return across the A38 empty-handed but for a spark of hope that Ignite’s dominance is a few hot streaks away from being smothered.
