FORDETTS edged out Outsiders by a single pin in their latest victory in the Totnes Skittles League, winning X.
Linzi Crackett top scored for the Fordetts with 77 whilst Laura Vaughan led the Outsiders charge on 93.
All Stars dominated their game against Meadowbrooks and came out on top by 297 pins to 280.
Lorraine Edmonds (88) and Marie Trant (82) were the All Stars’ standouts and Meadowbrooks were pretty well-balanced across the board.
Alley Cats were at it from the off as they beat Odd Westons 295-260, Sara Ellis with 79 and Emma Saunders with 78. For Westons, Angela Worth had 74 and Val McGall 71.
The Diamonds couldn't compete in their high-scoring meeting with the Gems, losing 301-260.
Wendy Northway shined brightly for the Gems on 94 and, for the Diamonds, Marion Feltham scored 74 with Sonia Edwards and Sue Wallace both one behind.
Onto the men and Wasp vs TRFC was a nail-biter that went back-and-forth, the former eventually winning 414-413.
Mike Edmonds top-scored for TRFC on 89 and Ernie Perring for Wasp with 77.
Also enjoying very tight affairs were the Millers and the Panthers, and the Bullets and the Offcuts.
Millers lost 465-459 to Panthers whilst Bullets fired ahead of Offcuts, 468-457.
Across those two clashes, Alan Hewings scored 100 for Panthers, David Lloyd with 87 for the Millers, Simon Prowse on 94 for Offcuts ahead of Chris Camp and John Watson with 82 apiece against Phil Kendall’s 92 for Bullets.
Kevin Jarvis’ 98 (with four spares) inspired Woodpeckers to a commanding 474-395 success over Wrecks. Les Steer had 82 (with five spares) for Wrecks.
Finally, Fords won hit 500 in their 40-point win over Wizzards, Chris Worth, Dave Jackson and Paul Trant all putting up 90+ hauls. Dave also had a double flopper of 24.
