THIS week’s Totnes Skittles League action saw the return of the Mixed pairs and the Knockout cups.

Sonia Edwards and Chris Stolworthy beat Karen Bridges and Les Harding 159-140. Bella and Paul Trant won 160-150 against Emma and Dave Saunders. Ann and Steve Robinson scored 153 to the 151 of Caitlyn Kneil and Matt Edwards in a narrow affair. Georgie Northway and Shaun Luscombe 148 vs Lorraine and Mike Edmonds 143 & Sara Ellis and Kevin Murch 160 vs Emma and Andy Challis 171. Sarah Life and Freddie Tippett had a walkover.

Into the league action and with five more spares than their opponents, Meadowbrooks prevailed 312-268 over Alley Cats, Emma Challis top-scoring on 85.

Odd Westons won 289-264 against All Stars and Angela Worth (83) was their standout whilst Margaret Saxon had 86 (including three spares) for the Outsiders, who beat Diamonds 306-257.

Fordetts also passed the 300-mark in their victory over Gems, winning 304-270. The Gems were short-handed and that hampered their progress, all of the Fordetts scoring over 70 apiece meanwhile.

Onto the men’s side of things and the Wrecks led from the off as they went on to beat Wizzards. 481-450 was the score with Mike Westaway top scoring for the victors on 91.

Simon Prowse contributed 102 for the Bullets, inspiring his side to a 466-424 win over TRFC. Tim Finch had 85 for TRFC and two teammates were close behind on 81 but it still wasn’t enough on the day.

The highest score of the session came from Panthers and it was a family affair in their 509-436 mauling of Millers.

Matthew Monaghan led the way on 101 and he was backed up by his son Cameron, who scored 98.

Last but not least, Fords fought back to overcome Wasp, winning 472-434.
