STOKE Gabriel & Torbay Police’s 1st XI manager has departed the club after only 10 competitive games in charge.

Connor Marshall labelled the chance to return to Tavistock AFC, a club where he was previously involved with their development centre, as “just something I couldn’t turn down.”

The Lambs previously had Steve Tully at the helm but he moved on, along with a few key players, following disputes relating to certain assurances and resources or the lack thereof.

In his first interview with the step five club, Marshall gave “A massive thank you to Stoke” for their support, adding: “Was it the easiest decision? Absolutely not. I was happy where I was, I’d built a lot at Stoke.”

Assistant manager Darren Raven has followed Marshall to Langsford Park.

The Bees are in 11th in the SW Peninsula League Premier East at the time of writing, with a 3-2-3 record after eight league outings.

Stoke are without a game this weekend which will allow them more time to appoint a successor.

They return to action on Saturday, October 10, when they visit a struggling Okehampton Argyle side at Simmons Park.
