An award-winning lettings agency ran an exciting competition this year for primary school children in the local area.

Coast and Country cottages invited children from primary schools across South Devon to design their company Christmas cards this year, and in return, awarded over £1400 in prizes.

In exchange for taking part, in the competition, all 11 schools involved have been awarded £100 worth of National book tokens to spend on expanding their libraries, while children with the winning designs have also received a prize voucher.

In addition to the voucher, the winners also received a copy of their creation to give to family and friends.

Emily Mercer, Marketing Manager at Coast & Country Cottages said: “We are so excited to have run this fun community competition.

“The designs have been amazing and incredibly varied.

“From Santa enjoying an ice cream in Salcombe to reindeers resting on Thurlestone Rock, we’ve seen it all! I hope the children enjoyed this opportunity to get creative, whilst also helping to earn their school book tokens to spend on their libraries! I’m delighted that the children, aged between 4 and 11, tried so hard and produced such exceptional entries, thank you to everyone who took part.”

Brixham based artist Julia Lee, said “We at Brixham Art Society were thrilled to be asked to judge these competition entries. The children have put so much effort into their designs, it was so hard to choose just one winner from each school. They were beautifully done with many children taking inspiration from the wonderful area we live in. The children really should be so proud of themselves there is a lot of rising talent and many artists in the making in South Devon.”
