The main towns in the South Hams are joining together to launch a new wellness app under the banner of ‘Moor to Shore’.

It is the brainchild of Marketing Director at Explore Dartmouth Danni Pinnington and Economic Development Officer at Totnes Town Council Kayleigh O’Brien.

It will cover Dartmouth, Totnes, Ivybridge, Kingsbridge and Salcombe and should go live by the end of the month.

Danni explains the concept: “The app will highlight all the things that you can do in this area that relate to wellness in its broadest terms so that could be walking on the mall it could be swimming in the sea or the river it could be paddle boarding it could be the saunas that are available it could be everything Totnes does around wellness things like off-grid accommodation, glamping and the like and looking at getting out and about, being in the fresh air, doing activities that are bringing you back to nature but also just giving you time to step out from your busy life.”

Danni thinks this is the first time the towns have worked together in this way and they have received some grant funding from South Hams District Council.

She explained how it works: “The app takes you through all the things that you can do so a visitor can can download it and then they can maybe they look for pilates or yoga and they'll see all the options across all the towns that are available or they might decide well I'm going to Salcombe and they can put together their own little itinerary.

There's an interactive map within the app so they can see exactly what's available in that area.”

The South Hams offers a host of attractions such as walking, cycling, swimming and a large variety of places to stay soon to be searchable on one app.
