MORE than 50 artists are taking part in this year’s South Hams Arts Trail in 24 venues across the district.
Visitors will discover the most eclectic, diverse range of artwork ever showcased at the annual South Hams Arts Forum Arts Trail, which takes place from Saturday 15 to Sunday 30 October.
As well as artists long admired by seasoned arts trail followers, the forum also welcomes many new makers this year, including metalwork sculptor Richard Bent, pyrography artist Lou Griffiths and botanical sketcher Trish Berry.
Lucy Rose of the arts forum said: “Follow the Trail for a brilliant opportunity to discover unique artwork in artists’ studios, galleries and interesting historic venues, such as the Kingsbridge Market Hall.
“Meet the artists, talk to them about where and how they work, perhaps see some at work, enjoy original art pieces and maybe purchase that special one to take home.
“Being in the heart of the South Hams, most venues are situated near stunning walks, beaches and award winning pubs, giving the prefect reason to visit venues and have a great day out.”
Visitors are urged to check the opening days and hours of individual venues in the brochure, as these may vary.
Contact details and directions to venues are listed below each participating artist’s profile.
Free Arts Trail brochures are available from Tourist Information Centres, many local businesses, pubs, hotels and restaurants, or can be viewed and download online at www.shaf.org.uk
