Thanks to two generous grants, Citizens Advice now has a regular key presence in the heart of Totnes.

The charity is staging weekly drop-in sessions at the Mansion every Wednesday from 9.30am to 12.30pm, following a £6,444 grant from the town council and a £500 donation towards the rent from Totnes Rotary Club.

Janie Moor, chief officer of Citizens Advice South Hams said: “We are happy to be back at the Mansion after a long period of closure due to Covid.

“We can get back to helping the people of the town.

“With increased costs of living and reduced governmental protections, we are aware that many people will be struggling this winter.

“If you need support or advice then please do get in touch, our advisers are here to help.”

The local charity offers advice on a range of issues including employment and benefits, housing, debt, energy, health and relationships.

All the advice is free, confidential, impartial and available to anyone.

Citizns Advice operations manager, Emma Richards, explained: “Clients can see us in one of the large rooms at the Mansion with social distancing in place, or can speak to us via video link - whatever works best for them.

“We are incredibly grateful to both Totnes Town Council and Totnes Rotary Club who have generously provided the funding to enable us to maintain a key presence in the heart of the town.”

No appointment is needed to attend the drop-in sessions.
