A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital following a crash on the A381.

A crash involving a car and a motorbike closed the Totnes to Kingsbridge Road for a couple of hours on Tuesday, August 7, and the biker was taken to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance.

The biker, named by his partner as Peter, who works at McColls in Kingsbridge, was on the way home from lunch with his mother in Totnes when the crash occurred.

He has broken his femur in two places and was due to undergo and operation today, Wednesday, August 8.

It is not clear how long he will need to remain in hospital.

The road was reopened around 5pm.
