A car was broken into on New Year’s Day, causing £100 worth of damage.

The car, which was parked on South Street, Totnes, between 7-8pm on January 1, was found with a window smashed when the owner returned at around 8am on January 2.

The owner, who wished to remain anonymous had just suffered a bereavement and said the break in "caused £100 worth of damage for the £3 they took".
